We report a case of an unusual tumour of the salivary glands. The sebaceous adenoma of the submandibular gland is a very rare benign neoplasm sometimes also localized in the parotid gland. More men than women are affected. The origin of the sebaceous differentiation in salivary glands is questionable. Typically sebaceous tumors of the salivary glands occur in a fibrotic stroma. Sebaceous adenomas and sebaceous lymphadenomas are benign tumors that will not recur if adequately excised. Sebaceous carcinoma and sebaceous lymphadenocarcinoma are low malignant tumors that have the ability to recur locally. Linkage for instance to the Muir-Torre syndrome is not evident.
