Total RNA quality assessment on the basis of 18S and 28S rRNA. On left side, lane # 1 shows DNA ladder (0.5 kb – 7.0 kb). The ethidium bromide-staining
pattern of intact total RNA shows clearly defined 18S and 28S ribosomal RNA bands
[lane # 3–5 (GTC; fresh); lane # 6–8 (SGC; fresh sample); lane # 9–11 (GTC; frozen);
and lane # 12–14 (SGC; frozen).
